Business Sector Solid Wood establishes and operates production capacities in solid wood furniture of Pine and Spruce. The objective is to manage and optimise the whole material and production chain from forest to finished furniture. This includes developing new methods for maximising the utilisation of the wooden material. A corporate target is that by 2009 all Swedwood units will be FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. Currently are the majority of the forest resources managed by Swedwood FSC certified. The Business Sector is organised in three Business Areas; Russia, Central Europe that concentrates on Pine and South Europe that focuses on Spruce. The Solid Wood furniture range includes for instance HEMNES, LEKSVIK and MANDAL.
