The Swedwood Group

The Swedwood Group is a fully integrated international industrial group of IKEA and our primary task is to ensure production capacity of wood based furniture for IKEA. This is accomplished by managing forests on long term lease contracts, establishing and operating sawmills, component and furniture production strategically located relative markets and/or raw materials supply.

Swedwood’s responsibility is also to serve as role model for other suppliers in all respects and all fields we are active which includes performance, improvements, resource management and sustainability. At the same time we must stay competitive and continuously drive developments within this industry sector.

Swedwood was established in 1991 with head office in Ängelholm, Sweden. We have operations and offices in Sweden, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Portugal, China and the USA. Our organisation is divided into Business Sectors with focus on specific operational and production concepts. We invest significantly in technical R&D, EHS, Supply Chain, HR and other critical support.
