We coordinate manufacturing and industrial development within the group by developing a joint concept, the “Swedwood Way of Production”, which we also call SWOP. SWOP gives us a tool, based on our core values, that makes it possible for us to improve the entire manufacturing chain, from timber or wood to ready furniture. In this way, we can achieve strict quality objectives and ensure that the needs of IKEA customers are met in the best way.

SWOP focuses on the individual and encourages individual initiatives. Everyone can contribute with their own ideas and suggestions that lead to improvements based on the principle of “development by many small steps.” This means that we use every opportunity to become better, and that all Swedwood units are in the midst of constant development.

Swedwood also focuses on reality based training. We recruit on location and train our employees at the factories where they work and in the surroundings they are used to. This allows Swedwood to contribute to providing new job opportunities and increase skills and expertise in the area. Our aim is “to every day do something better but not worse than the day before.” It is these thousands of small steps forward that produce results.
